SUE CROSMAN’S first musical instrument was the flute, but she fell in love with the piano after listening to such jazz greats as Bill Evans and Oscar Peterson. Since then she has studied with piano masters Don Haas and Dick Hindman, and holds an Associate of Arts Degree in Music from the College of San Mateo.
Sue is a full time working jazz pianist, as well as a private piano teacher. Hotel appearances include the Mark Hopkins, Fairmont, Park Hyatt, De Anza, and many more. She often works with popular local groups such as Wally’s Swing World, and vocalist Fran Foston. She is also a pianist at numerous Bay Area Restaurants and Country Clubs, and performs at many jazz festivals. Sue has also worked abroad at the Hotel Yokohama in Japan.
Television appearances include “Good Morning Bay Area” (Channel 7), as well as “Jazz Alive” (a Bay Area jazz television station). She has also performed live on radio station KPFA in Oakland with the Joan Bow Quintet.
Along with private teaching, Sue has given clinics at Stanford University and PPSI Institute in Ensemble Performance.
Recording work includes CD’s with Joan Bow, Christine Marie, Wally’s Swingworld and “Listen Here” Jazz Ensemble.
Sue is currently performing at: The De Anza Hotel-San Jose; Max‘s Opera Cafe-Burlingame; California Cafe-Los Gatos; and Bocce’s Italian Restaurant-San Francisco.
